Home ›UPDATE! Clans of Ireland Cultural Summit and AGM 2020
Dear Clans of Ireland Members,
As we advised you in March 2020, due to the world wide Covid-19 pandemic we had to postpone our Annual General Meeting.
The situation with the virus has not improved and travel is still difficult worldwide, so we have no option but to hold our meeting virtually. It is a legal requirement that the meeting be held and this seems to be the only way it can be done. It is also the method that has been suggested to us by our regulatory authorities, the Companies Office [CRO] and the Office of the Directorate of Corporate Affairs [ODCA].
The new date for our online AGM is the 11th July 2020 from 2.00 p.m. GMT. Only Member Clans who return their Delegate Nomination Forms will be able to attend and these Clans will receive a link and password to enable them join the meeting which will be held on Zoom. Notices have been sent to all of our 2020 Registered Clans and these notices have been accompanied by the necessary documentation:-
The AGM notice for 11 July 2020
Agenda for AGM 2020
The official proxy & Delegate Formwhich we would ask you to complete and return urgently.
Director Election and Nomination Form. Please also return the Director Nomination Form urgently.

The Cathaoirleach’s report, Report of the Rúnaí
Audited Accountsfor the twelve months ending 31 December 2019, as approved by the Board of Directors.
We would love for as many of you as possible to attend and have your say in the running and organisation of your Company.
We look forward to meeting with you virtually on the 11th July 2020

POSTPONEMENT NOTICE - 15th March 2020
Dear Clans of Ireland Members,
I am sure it will not be any surprise – that the Board of Finte na hÉireann - Clans of Ireland has voted to postpone the 2020 AGM & Cultural Summit, arranged for 18th April 2020 at the Stephen's Green & Hibernian Club, Dublin.
Ireland, together with many of our neighbours throughout the world, is in lockdown mode. All educational institutions closed Thursday last. Previously all St. Patrick's Day Celebrations were canceled national wide. It is a measure how seriously it is taken in this country that all religious occasions will be held behind closed doors for the immediate future. Weddings have been canceled and I have not yet heard how funeral ceremonies will be arranged. There is 'talk' of the pubs and restaurants closing. Our radiational Irish life is gravely changed.
If the world and national news improves, it is planned that the AGM and Cultural Summit be held during June 2020. There may be conflict with Clan Gatherings; please let us know as soon as possible if this is likely. We will inform you as soon as we rearrange the date, but I believe that a June date may be very hopeful.
All good wishes for the coming Seasons of St. Patrick and Easter and may you all be safe and well in the period ahead.
Yours sincerely,
Nora Keohane Hickey,
Cathaoirleach
