The Gathering 2013

Our Clans organise gatherings in Ireland and abroad each year, however, the Government of Ireland has announced that 2013 is to be a special year when all those who identify with Irish culture and heritage are invited to visit and reconnect with Ireland.

Clans of Ireland in partnership with the Government and Tourism Ireland is happy to support The Gathering and we are calling on all of our Clans to organise a gathering in Ireland in 2013. You will see from the list of events below that many Clans are already planning their gatherings with some starting in 2012 while others are planning for 2013 through to 2015 .

So why not be part of it and join your Clan for their gathering.

2014

Battle of Clontarf 1,000^th Commemoration

Date: 23 April 2014

Among other celebrations, a commemorative re-enactment of the Battle of Clontarf is being organised by Mr. James O'Neill O'Brien and his colleagues in the O'Brien Clan (http://www.obrienclan.com/) to mark the 1000th anniversary of this important event in Irish history. All those clans who were involved in the Battle of Clontarf in anyway are invited to participate in this and other celebrations.
