Invitations to nominate recipients of the 2024 for Clans of Ireland Order of Merit

Nominations are invited for the Clans of Ireland Order of Merit Award which for the first time in 2024 will have two ranks –

 

Companion Clans of Ireland (Compánach Finte na hÉireann) and

 

Honorary Companion of Clans of Ireland (Compánach Oinigh Finte na hÉireann)

 

All citizens of Ireland and members of the Irish Diaspora, who are eighteen years of age or older are eligible for consideration as recipients of the Companion Clans of Ireland, whether they have registered with a clan or historic family or not.

People who are not citizens of Ireland and members of the Irish Diaspora, who are eighteen years of age or older are eligible for consideration as recipients of the Honorary Companion Clans of Ireland, whether they have registered with a clan or historic family or not.

Those chosen to receive the Clans of Ireland Order of Merit must have made an outstanding contribution to:

  1. His/her Clan organisation and/or,
  2. The honour of his/her clan  name and/or,
  3. The reputation of Ireland.
 

Nominations, including full relevant biographies, must be submitted through the Correspondence Committee (post@clansofireland.ie) and addressed, in confidence to the Council of Clans of Ireland Order of Merit, by 28th February 2022. The names of the successful nominations are published on 17th March each year.
