Dear Members Clans and Those wishing to know more about Clans of Ireland

Clans of Ireland ~ Finte na hÉireann is an independent permanent authority established in 1989 to authenticate and register Irish Clans and historical families; to promote the interests of Irish Clans at home and abroad; and unite them into a cohesive cultural movement.

We are enduring very troubled times, but as I write to you, there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Sorry for the cliches, but there are occasions when cliches are appropriate.

We are having Zoom and not an Actual meetings now, so in 2021 there will be two very important Zoom happenings. On 17th April 2021, there will be two lectures, details of these are already sent to Member Clans. The speakers are Luke McInerney, who will tell us of the Medieval Families of the West of Ireland, and Michael Ocrowley, informing us of Irish Heraldry; Laws of Arms.

The second Zoom session will be more formal – the AGM on 24th April 2021.

Planning is in hand for a second historical lecture Zoom session in the autumn.

So I hope to see you all at all the Zoom sessions.

Take care and good wishes to you all.

Ní neart go cur le chéile! ~ ‘There is no strength without unity’!

Le gach dea-ghuí,

Cathaoirleach ~ Chairperson
